Since the moment Daisy Cooks premiered in 2005 the response to the show and companion book, Daisy Cooks! Latin Flavors That Will Rock Your World (Hyperion, 2005) has been fantastic, passionate and personal. Almost two years later, the book and show, are still a favorite with cooking aficionados all over the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and New Zealand!
This year lots of changes have taken place. Daisy is now working
with a wonderful new production company, and we are all looking
forward to going back to studio this spring 2008, and back into
your homes and lives!! Thank you very much for your patience and
continue support.
It is because of your commitment to Daisy Cooks! , that Daisy has kept busy!
In the past, Daisy has been asked to write for and has been featured on Time Magazine, Women's Day, Bon Appetite, Food & Wine, Inside TV, Latina, People en Espanol, Hispanic Magazine, Adweek's Marketing y Medios, Latino Leaders, Catalina Magazine, Dominican Times Magazine, El Diario La Prensa, Metro NY, Hoy,, i Salsa Magazine, Vanidades, Women's Day, Family Circle, Staten Island Advance, NY Daily News, Miami Herald, El Nuevo Dia ( Puerto Rico) among others, and she is now are regular contributor to Siempre Mujer and Everyday with Rachael Ray.
Daisy's past TV appearances have included FOX's GOOD DAY NEW YORK, the THE TONY DANZA SHOW, Rocco Dispirito's radio show (WOR), CBS's EARLY SHOW , CBS's Chef on a Shoestring, Fox and Friends on Fox Channel 5 in NYC, WXPN-FM's XPN Morning Show in Philadelphia, FUSE TV, NBC’s TODAY Show and on Despierta America in Univision the #1 morning show in Hispanic television in the USA.
This 2007, Daisy's appearances and events have included: The Food University Charter Class in Chicago, IL, demos and signings for Simon Super Chefs LIVE!, the Mohegan Sun Wine Fest, the Toledo Library in Toledo Ohio, a cooking class at Southern Season Cooking School in Chapel Hill, NC, a second sold-out class at ICE, the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, a second James Beard Foundation workshop, a cooking demo in the Dominican
Republic (her first in Spanish) on Gourmet Facil, one of the Caribbean's most popular cooking shows, Sutter Home's Build a Better Burger contest, The Big E, book signing during PBS Create's Teachers Conference, plus appearances as a guest chef on Mary Ann Esposito's Ciao Italia, the Rachael Ray show, as one of Rachael's friends, the new online Isaac Mizrahi Show (to air in 2008) , and last but not least, being named terra.com's new online chef , and being honored during Hispanic Month by Brooklyn's borough president Marty Markowitz.
On Christmas day 2007, Daisy and author/ friend Esmeralda Santiago, read their Christmas radio play La Parranda on NPR, nationwide.
2008 is shaping out to be the year to look out for Daisy. She participated at an event for the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Cancer Society, where she was interviewed by WADO AM Radio, has been featured on the NY Daily News, and Puerto Rico’s highest circulation newspaper, El Nuevo Dia.
So far this year, she cooked and signed books at the Boston Globe Travel Show in Boston, MA, and the New York Times Travel show in NYC. In addition, she will be teaching a week-long cooking classes in Maine at theWhitehead Light Station, and another class this fall at the French Culinary Institute, as part of a major culinary event
In between all these appearances, she finds the time to put together her new cooking show, and we will make a big announcement soon!
