I’m baaaaaack!

by daisy on July 3, 2012

I’m baaaaaack! It’s been a while, but we are back and better than ever! Take a minute to take a look around, and get acquainted with the new site!

In the meantime, let me bring you up to date with what’s been going on in Mundo Daisy. I have taken and completed the inaugural Intensive Sommelier Class at The International Culinary Center (previously known as The French Culinary Institute, my culinary Alma Mater), and received both my Introductory and my Certified level pins. To be honest, it was one of the most difficult tasks I have ever taken on, but by the same token, one of the most rewarding! I’ll be posting, tasting and sharing wine with you here on the website as a new added feature, so you’ll definitely want to check in for that!

I’m also the new Executive Chef over at Mamiverse Food, the food-centric sister page to Mamiverse.com, a wonderful, inclusive website with a Latina flair which addresses family, lifestyle and current events. Stop by and check out Mamiverse.com, and let them know that Daisy sent you…. there’s a LOT going on over there!

I’ll be traveling a bit this summer, too. I will be cooking at De Norte a Sur; Feria De Gastronamia y Madriaje, a wonderful culinary festival in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and then I’ll be teaching my week-long class on Whitehead Island in Maine (I’m so excited!) again, so I’ll be taking you on those trips with me via pictures, and videos, so stay tuned!
Lastly, I am going to leave you with a delicious, refreshing drink that I discovered last year while traveling in Cartagena, Colombia, a Limonada de Coco, a coconut limeade that is guaranteed to quench the strongest of thirsts! Here is a video that takes you through it step by step, and remember…stop by often because we’re turning up the fire and cooking with gas heat! Buen provecho!
